According to the calendar, it’s still spring for a few more weeks, but according to thermometers here in Juneau it sure feels a lot like summer. Hiking up Perseverance Trail brings back the chill in a hurry, and higher elevations feature vegetation that is just beginning to spread it’s green. After the Dupont Trail didn’t offer what I hoped, I went to look for reflections on Gold Creek. When that didn’t work out either, I recalled a photograph by Vance Gese that I had recently viewed on NPN. The third time was the charm. I returned home with some very successful photos of Veratrum that I’ll share over the next couple days unless something else comes along.
