Inside Passage and Coast
When the waters of Alaska’s Inside Passage are not being whipped up by extreme winds, they can be so placid that it’s hard to believe the body of water is a part of the Pacific Ocean and not just a really big lake. The proximity of the mountains adds some consistent drama, and wildlife is perhaps at its greatest abundance in Juneau’s adjacent ocean habitats.
